Yesterday, while searching for a SaaS product for a new project, I discovered a promising one. I checked their services, it fit all my needs and I was ready to signup and use it. โ
Yet something stopped me from clicking the signup button instantly. As if by instinct, I found myself typing into Google "Product X vs" before making a commitment. Even if a product meets my needs, I want to check for better options. ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ
"Product Y, Product Z" had comparison pages against "Product X", I saw them in the search results and started to explore their services. Upon further comparison and research, one rival edged out and I decided to continue with "Product Z". ๐
Here's the thing - today's SaaS market has tons of options everywhere you look. Even if you have a great product, customers want to assess their choices before deciding. It's human nature to hunt for the "best buy," even when picking something basic like eggs! ๐
Think of it this way - would you purchase eggs on a grocery app without looking at other kinds first? No way! You'd likely compare the options - white, brown, free range, organic etc - to pick the optimal one. ๐ฅ
It's the same for SaaS products. Customers instinctively evaluate multiple options before selecting one. They want the best fit and value, even if one product seems fantastic already. โจ
The world is more competitive than ever and buying habits are changing. Customers seek better options, even if your market seems non-competitive now. This drives the rise in "versus", "vs", "compared to" searches. ๐
My advice? Create your own competitor comparison landing pages before customers view your competitors' versions. Don't waste a minute to show them what they want to see! โณ
